Laina Norwood has been painting and studying art her whole life, from her youth in Mill Valley, California, to now in the Arts program at UC Santa Barbara. She takes inspiration from the artist communities in Marin County and San Francisco, as well as Martha’s Vineyard, where she’s spent every summer.

Norwood currently works at the Eisenhauer Gallery on Martha’s Vineyard as a gallerist assistant. She enjoys participating in local curated events and shows as a way of connecting with her community. In 2023, she was the first student ever chosen as the featured artist for the Mill Valley Fall Arts Festival. In 2024 she was awarded the MVFAF Scholarship. She also shows her work in the annual SB Fine Art Trunk Show

Norwood studies visual arts as well as other forms, such as music and creative writing. When she's not in the studio, she can be found with her guitar on the beach in Isla Vista, the slopes of Tahoe, or the trails of Mount Tamalpais.
